When my wife Lisa became a thurifer this year, I learned a whole new vocabulary from her!
I also learned that the thurifers are a distinct corps among the altar servers. They each have their own style, which became apparent to Lisa as she shadowed different thurifers to learn to swing.
I put this together to tease Lisa just a little. And Don (who is head thurifer) and Brooks. I had such fun I think I'll make another issue.
Delightful! The four years that Nay and I lived in NYC, I was a parishioner at St. Thomas Fifth Avenue. But occasionally we would go to "Smokey Mary's" [Church of St. Mary the Virgin and home of the thurific "Queen Anne Swing"] just for the smoke!
