Thanksgiving Offers Another Remembrance

Sacred Ground In Action (SGIA)

For many, Thanksgiving Day is not celebrated so much for the “First Thanksgiving,” but as a day to express gratitude for our families, friends, neighbors, and especially for God’s goodness. But for many of our Indigenous siblings, it can be experienced as a day of mourning for the loss of so much since that first “Thanksgiving Day.”

We can recognize this other remembrance virtually on Thursday, November 27 at 9 am PT. Visit uaine.org to witness with the United American Indians of New England National Day of Mourning “a true awareness of Native peoples and history”.
