Social Justice Resolutions at 2022 General Convention

From our Cathedral Sacred Ground in Action Anti-Racism Ministry
At this year’s General Convention, a number of social justice resolutions passed. Among them was C072, a Land Acknowledgment resolution encouraging each Diocese “to begin dialogue with representatives from those Indigenous peoples whose ancestral and territorial homelands its churches and buildings now occupy to collaborate in the development of appropriate land acknowledgement liturgies and prayers; and be it further Resolved, that each Diocese of the Episcopal Church in North America be asked, before the 81st General Convention, to begin a process of implementing land acknowledgement liturgies and prayers to begin any public meetings or worship and to provide resources to their churches to do the same.” (Click Here)

Our SGIA ministry has embarked on this important work. This fall we will share our progress. For more information, contact dianelopezhughes@gmail.com
