Simpler Living Creation Care Ministry:
In their Carbon Fast for Lent series, A Rocha invites us to consider eating lower down the food chain to reduce our carbon footprint. You can consider a vegetarian or vegan diet, but we can also reduce our carbon output by eating less meat. Now is a great time to consider what we can grow in our gardens – balconies, back yards, and shared community spaces – to be mindful stewards of our land. Growing our own food or getting it from farmer’s markets or CSA’s also reduces global greenhouse gases from transportation. An added planting may include flowers for pollinators!
