February is Black History Month: A Century of Black History Commemorations!

Sacred Ground in Action Initiative

While some would have you believe that for February there’s not much to say beyond our “250 glorious years of American independence” (hint, the house is white) we surely know better! Black history is richly varied, filled with pain-filled sorrow and hope-filled joy; outwardly imposed denial of freedom and vibrant, strong community life,; false narratives attempting – unsuccessfully – to squelch the spirit and deep sense of justice of a creative people sharing beautiful gifts of art, literature, culture, and faith.

Let’s celebrate this month as if there was nothing in our way! Click here for educational resources for all ages!
