Simpler Living will screen The Story of Stuff (20 minutes) and a follow-up short, The Story of Change (6 minutes). Both films were created and narrated by Annie Leonard, currently the Executive Director of Greenpeace USA. Although The Story of Stuff was made in 2007, its key message that the costs of our consumer society are mostly hidden and way too high is just as germane now as then. We want to discuss what we can do about these costs both individually and as a cathedral. How can we change behaviors and take action? What would that action look like and how might we implement it? Please join us for this program (and bring your dinner to your laptop)–there is no more important work than the quest to create a truly sustainable civilization!
