EDSD Creation Care Month of Service

From our Simpler Living Creation Care Ministry

Bishop Susan has declared 2023 as The Year of Service, and we in the creation care community are grateful that the first Month of Service focuses on Creation Care.  Along with a number of congregations in the diocese, not only does St Paul’s have a great Balboa Park Clean Up service project: we also have a number of additional events to recognize this Earth month, as well as our traditional Creation Care Sunday services and Faith Forum, “What is Service in a Time of Climate Crisis?” And on 4/18 we’ll hold one of our famous movie and discussion nights.  For our Cathedral events, go to SPC Earth Month Events 2023.

For non-service events throughout our diocese, go to EDSD Earth Month & Creation Care Sunday Liturgical Resources and watch for Month of Service projects throughout the diocese in the EDSD Wednesday e-blasts.

And here’s something we heard that knocked our socks off!

Recycle your…socks?

This month when you stop by our Simpler Living table to sign up for our Clean Up ministry or sign on to a petition, feel free to drop off those CLEAN lone socks (or the ones with the holes, in case you’re not a darner!)  We’ll take them to REI for you where they’ll soon  be on their way to create something marvelously recycled!  For more information, contact Diane Lopez Hughes (dianelopezhughes@me.com).
