Sue Kelly, People’s Warden
It was exciting to see so many people participate in our Ministry Fair this past Sunday, as we celebrated the various ministries here at St. Paul’s and navigated how we can become fully engaged in our communal life together.
We have begun the process of seeking members to stand for election to Chapter, which functions as the Board of Directors for the Cathedral. Like any other significant ministry to which we believe God has called us, the ministry of a member of Chapter is an invitation into a deeper relationship with God, the Church and each other.
Members of Chapter commit to attending:
- Chapter Meetings at 5:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, usually via Zoom, with some in-person meetings throughout the year.
- The Annual Chapter Retreat, typically held on a Saturday in February.
- Annual Meeting held in January.
As leaders of the Cathedral, members of Chapter are also responsible for demonstrating servant leadership that advance the mission of our community. This includes joining committees that oversee the business affairs of the church, committing an annual pledge to support the mission and ministry of the Cathedral, attending worship and serving as a conduit for information between the congregation and clergy leaders.
As a Chapter member, you will experience working together in an open and cohesive atmosphere of mutual respect and collegiality. Even while working from diverse viewpoints, your voice will be welcomed at the table—which enables us to be an effective governing body.
We invite you to prayerfully discern whether this is a ministry that you may be called to. Lending your time and talent to the church is one of the most precious gifts we can ask for. If you would like more information about serving on Chapter, we invite you to speak with a current member of the Chapter Nominating Committee: Sue Kelly, Blair Shamel, Stacey Klaman, The Very Rev. Penny Bridges or Demetreus Gregg.
In Christ,
Chapter Nominating Committee
