Theme: Cathedral on the Edge
The 2026 NACD conference theme is “Cathedral on the Edge”. San Diego sits on the edge of the continent and of the United States, and St. Paul’s Cathedral seeks to live into that location with innovative expressions of ministry.
With that in mind, we are looking forward to sharing some of the great things going on in our neighborhood, including the famous Voices of our City Choir, founded for unsheltered people to make music and build new lives; the Museum of Us with its focus on decolonizing; and our own annual celebration to Light Up the Cathedral for Pride.
We hope to inspire fellow deans to take some of these ideas home. We will also enjoy a lighthearted history of the Episcopal Church in Southern California, a visit with Teresa of Avila, a conversation about border ministry, and the beauty of Balboa Park, the country’s second largest city park.
