At St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral (2728 6th Ave, San Diego, CA 92103)
In this special community dinner, we join together as a San Diego community to celebrate Shabbat, a weekly opportunity to reset and shine hope and joy to our entire community.
Shabbat, starts every Friday at Sunset and ends Saturday when there are three stars in the sky. It is a day to reset, relax and reflect from the past week and prepare for the upcoming one. It is traditionally welcomed with the lighting of two candles and a dinner celebration.
On August 23, 2024, we will Shine the Light and celebrate Shabbat together. We invite you, our friends and neighbors, to join us to bring light to our world again with a very special dinner and celebration at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral hosted by the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center. Please know that the purpose of this event is exclusively to promote understanding of the Shabbat service as a Jewish practice, and any discussion of ongoing events in the Holy Land will not be part of evening’s service.
Let’s come together to illuminate our worlds with light, warmth, and friendship.
This event is free and appropriate for people of all ages.
