It was quite a day on Sunday, with the annual blessing of the animals, and lots of new friends visiting St Paul’s with their pets. We had dogs, and cats, a tortoise, rats, and at least one hamster. Didn’t see any birds this year; did you? The Rev. Canon Albert Ogle began his sermon by instructing the congregation to “Sit!” and his final “Amen!” was punctuated by an emphatic “woof!” from a four-legged friend. Then we all trooped out to the 6th avenue side where individual blessings were provided to enthusiastic pets and owners.
