Celebrating Diverse Cultures during Hispanic and Latino Heritage Month

From St Paul’s Sacred Ground in Action (SGIA) Ministry:

Sandieguinos are very fortunate to benefit from the rich cultural heritage of our Mexican neighbors – on either sides of the border – as well as the numerous Latino, Latinx, and Hispanic cultures of people and their US-born descendants here from many parts of the world. In 2020 the country’s Hispanic /Latino /Latinx /Chicano /Tejano /Isleños /Boricua/ AfroLatino plus population was estimated at 62 million people. Public Broadcasting will offer opportunities to learn so much – culturally, politically, and more – about our neighbors, both next door and around the world, including films from Latino Public Broadcasting: Click here for details on PBS.org

Look for opportunities to visit our many wonderful Latinx-owned businesses and venues.

In addition to PBS’s offerings from September 15 – October 15, St John’s Episcopal Church in Chula Vista will hold a celebration on Tuesday, September 24 at 6pm. There will be music, dancing and a potluck dinner.  For more information visit: https://edsd.org/event/la-misa-in-english-celebrating-hispanic-heritage-month/
