Since last September’s Season of Creation and St Paul’s Cathedral Simpler Living Ministry Month, our country and the world have seen numerous federal government step back and even reversals from previous commitments to address the climate crisis, possible solutions that many of us took for granted as a new way
of seeing our responsibility to God’s creation.
So this year we are all called to renew personal and congregational, along with city and state resolve, to
● pray together for the well being of our communities – especially for our
frontline neighbors and others across the nation and around the world who
are already experiencing the devastating effects of climate chaos;
● become informed about new opportunities and increase involvement in
applying resourceful strategies to the places we live and worship; and
● advocate for policies and practices that can reduce the harmful impacts of
climate change.
Along with green teams in other churches throughout the diocese and the nation,
our Simpler Living ministry invites congregants and our neighbors to consider
partaking in one or more opportunities listed in our Season of Creation: Peace With
Creation 2025 schedule of events:

● Join with others around the diocese in a 9/13 Sacred Walk with Rev. Brian
Petersen to refresh with God’s creation and remember our place in it;
● Worship throughout the month with the Cathedral’s creation-themed
liturgies;
● Attend the 9/28 Adult Forum with its focus on how one climate solution can
reduce our carbon footprint while providing funds for our many ministries;
● After services stop by our Advocacy Table and contact decisionmakers to
support positive change;
● Celebrate our non-human friends at the 10/5 Blessing of the Animals;
● And enjoy our homemade pastry contributions to Cof ee Hour on 9/7 in
recognition of Simpler Living’s Ministry Month.
As you’ll learn at the Sunday, 9/14 Cathedral Ministry Fair, Simpler Living is one
of many ministries that seeks members with new ideas and energy to strengthen
our Spirit-led work in an ever changing world. Please stop at our table to learn
