SEVEN WEEK ADVENT
Advent traditionally consists of the four weeks prior to Christmas and is a time of expectant waiting for the Nativity of Christ at Christmas. However, there is a longstanding and widespread alternative tradition of observing Advent for a period more equivalent to the 40 days of Lent. St. Paul’s will be celebrating a 7 week Advent in 2024, which will begin on November 10.
We hope you can find peace within our four walls. All are welcome.

As we explore an extended 7-week Advent once again this year, this service of Preparation complete with the Great “O” Antiphons is a wonderful way to experience this Advent tradition more deeply. This year the service will be sung by members of the Cathedral Schola and Alumni of the St Cecilia Choir and includes a wealth of music ranging from chant settings to 20th Century composers Britten and Howells.

Russell, featured soloists from the Chorale will be accompanied by organist Martin Green, who is both Canon of Music at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral and the Chorale’s Associate Music Director.
